I left Sydney, Australia 1996. After a period of travelling and working here in Europe, I found it was time to bring a little bit of Australia to Heemstede. On the 3rd of December 2002 we presented Southern Cross, Modern Australian Cuisine to the people of Holland.In the interior of the restaurant you can see a little bit of my heritage, with aborigional painted walls, original street signs and of course the rusty galvanised iron from the old sheep shed.The food I do here is what I call Sydney style food, coming from a diverse range of cultures with modern presentation. As much as possible, I source the products from Australia such as Kangaroo, Emu , Barramundi and Giant tiger prawns etc., and of course a range of Aussie beer and top wines from the land Down Under.
